New job – why are we giving up?

The job search is often lengthy. Especially when we do not know exactly what we really want to do. However, it often happens that we are even forced to start a new job and then these searches are not fully thought out. It can be combined with dissatisfaction with what we do, and even quick quitting. But is this the only reason why we quickly give up? The new job does not always turn out to be the dream job. But what most often makes us leave as soon as we accept it? Read this article where we will cover this issue

Quitting new job

Finally, we get a new job. We are happy that we are changing something in our lives, we are curious and excited about the new situation. We agree on all the terms, sign a contract, come to work and… we will be greatly disappointed. We feel so bad that the only thing we dream about is resignation and another new job. This is a familiar scenario for many people. Why is this happening? What forces us to make such a decision, even though finding employment was such a positive situation for us?

Quick resignation from a new job may be caused by a large difference between the obligations contained in the contract and actually performed. It seems to us that the advertisement is perfect, we talk to the recruiters or the employer and we enjoy all the tasks that are waiting for us. After the fact, however, it turns out that the work is not that exciting, we deal with completely different duties, which often go beyond our competences. No wonder that in such a situation, we want to leave the new workplace as soon as possible. The job description is inconsistent with the facts and we are not comfortable with it.

Another reason to quit a new job is also the issue of remuneration. If the employer promises allowances and bonuses when signing the contract, and despite hard work, none of the assurances exists, we feel cheated. Of course, before we give up on this reason, it’s worth asking your superiors why. The trial period shows the employer how we work, it is hard to expect that we will be rewarded for work immediately, especially when we learn many things.

The atmosphere in the workplace is important to employees. If they are new and feel that it somehow excludes them, they often find it difficult to work, and simply doing their jobs generates stress. Toxic coworkers, rumors, lack of cooperation, understatement – all this can make a new job a nightmare we want to wake up from as soon as possible.

Employees also say they are giving up the new job work because of… the employer. It may turn out that we do not get along at all, cooperation is very slow, thus no one is completely satisfied with what is happening in the company. Good contact with superiors is an element of the atmosphere at work, and as we have already written, it is a really important issue for employees.

Employees leave their workplace also because they get new, better offers. When we are looking for a job, we usually send CVs to many places. However, it may happen that we really have an emergency situation and we have to start working, so we agree to the not entirely satisfactory proposal that appears. But when suddenly someone from another company speaks with a better offer, we decide to leave.

We leave a new job when we feel that we are not properly introduced to our responsibilities. We do not have any training, someone on the first day explains something to us briefly, then we are mainly on our own. We do not feel confident, we are not fully prepared. This situation can also make us quickly discouraged and decide to leave.

Employees are also deterred by the lack of proper tools for work. Then the performance of tasks is much more demanding, and often even impossible. We then feel helpless and unable to work, and new job turns out to be a disappointment.

New job – before you quit

The first days in a new job can be difficult. But remember not to get discouraged quickly. We may think that our employees do not like us, and it is impossible to get along with the boss, but after some time it may turn out that this is not the case. At first, the atmosphere can be difficult, but it is not uncommon for time to do its job and fix what we thought could not be changed.

But if we are determined to leave, let’s tell the employer about everything . Let us not disappear overnight, be professional. Let’s not come up with a reason, let’s be clear why the new job does not satisfy us and we want to change it. Maybe a compromise can be found?

Remember that after the end of the trial period, we can negotiate the contract, so it may turn out that the terms and conditions change that do not suit us. If the employer sees us as a good employee, we will certainly be appreciated.

If you decide to quit your job, say that you will stay with the company until you find a new employee, show us how the best side – remember that the labor market is not as big as it may seem and bad opinions spread quickly.

New job and the dilemma to leave or stay?

Many people fear leaving their new job . First of all, they are afraid that they will not look professional in the eyes of other employers, that it will somehow destroy them in the industry.

Remember, however, that if we leave with style, most likely nobody will have reason to make it difficult for us to find a new job. If we feel really bad in our new job, we can’t stand the stress, too much is required of us, let’s seriously consider whether it is worth stuck in it.

Of course, it may be a mistake, but only if the decision is hasty. In each case, it is necessary to carefully consider whether the new job turned out to be a mistake and you need to look for another one.
